The Global Optimistic (GERGAZ NETLABEL/SVK) will perform @ Sziget Festival 2012 again! It will be the third time already for GLGN & Jimmy Pé’s project to play the hungarian festival that won the Best European Major Festival title at the European Festival Awards. Catch The Global Optimistic (live) @ Cökxpôn Stage on 11/08/2012. 11th August, the night between Saturday and Sunday at 02:00 AM.

Originally disbanded in 2008, is currently a two piece production team consisting of GLGN and Jimmy Pé. Putting aside their live collaboration simply known as GLGN and Jimmy Pé, the no longer existing THE GLOBAL OPTIMISTIC was re-born using very same name as a trademark of unique formation. Their live performance is accompanied by Vj´s Akasha with a special AV show made especially for their upcoming album. Both, GLGN and Jimmy Pé released their own solo album on GERGAZ NETLABEL, which is their own netlabel.

Spolupráca medzi SPSF a GERGAZ netlabelom už funguje dlho a bola vždy plodná na klubové noci plné aktuálnej, kvalitnej a neopočúvanej tanečnej hudby. Spoločná láska k elektronickej tvorbe a chuť prezentovať ju slovenskému publiku medzi dvoma kolektívami vytvorila za roky pôsobenia silné puto. O to viac sa teraz tešíme, že len krátko po oslávení tretích narodenín GERGAZu, vás môžeme pozvať na našu prvú oficiálnu spoločnú párty.

Našim vzácnym zahraničným hosťom nebude nik iný ako producent a Dj z UK, ITAL TEK! Ten do bunkru prinesie asi ten najfuturistickejší tanečný hybrid aký môžete v klube počuť. V Subclube si zahrá len deň pred tým, ako vystúpi na oficiálnej českej Outlook Festival Warm up Party. Ital tekovi, v civile Alanovi Mysonovi, sa od roku 2006 darí vydávať releasy so zárukou kvality a progresívnosti. Pozornosť na seba upútal najneskôr vo chvíli, keď vyšli jeho dosky na rešpektovanom labeli Planet Mu. Alanov zvuk počas posledných šiestich rokov neustále prechádzal inováciami. Od počiatočného neobrúseného polámaného hardcoru, cez ten najtemnejší dubstep, až po jeho súčasný štýl, ktorý sám trefne nazval space bass. Ten sa zrodil z kolízie surového lo-fi zvuku footworku a melodického a do detailu vyšperkovaného UK soundu. Prostá tanečnosť chicagskeho ghetto beatu vytvára spolu s krásnymi melodickými, niekedy až oldschoolovými synťákmi nečakanú symbiózu, ktorá znie naozaj vesmírne. V iTAL tEKovom livesete sa teda pripravte na pestré, morfujúce a šialené rýchle perkusie a krásne, snové melódie rozliehajúce sa v priestore.

Ako druhý pozvaný live performer večera sa zo samplami pohrá Foolk. Prostredníctvom tlačidiel na jeho Monome nám predvedie naživo jeho originálnu a experimentálnu produkciu. Jeho sety pohybujúce sa hore-dole okolo hip-hopového tempa sa pritom vďaka širokým hudobným vplyvom nikdy nedajú len tak jednoducho žánrovo zaškatuľkovať.

Z GERGAZu zaznejú hneď tri sety. Prvý Dj set bude v podaní TGO, ktorí ním už na poslednej SPSF výborne supportovali Clubroota. Pre tých, čo budú 27. apríla v Prahe, GLGN a Jimmy Pé vystupujú ako predskokani Daedalusa v Meetfactory. Z GERGAZu sa okrem toho vystriedajú za gramcami aj Jablkonosic a YI. O pútavé vizualizácie sa postará Vj Stix.

GLGN feat. DADA | Intention EP

GERGAZ netlabel is releasing double A side EP Intention by slovak GLGN. It has been quite a while since GLGN’s last EP. He spent most of this time in studio, entering various remix competition (Anekka, Gonjasufi) and on the stage with project The Global Optimistic. The project was performing side by side with names like Photek, Ikonika, Jazzsteppa, Nosaj Think, Clubroot, Phaeleh and is set to support Daedelus (Ninja Tune / Braifeeder) at Meetfactory in Prague on 27/04/2012 and later on Ital Tek (Planet Mu) at Subclub, Bratislava (11/05/2012). The project was also playing at Sziget festival, one of the best known festival in past two years. For his new EP he invited a Nove Mapy singer, DADA who currently works with several different projects , one of them being project called 6 Divas that mixes contemporary dance music with jazz fusion.

Daedelus v MeetFactory

Legenda americkej nezávislej hudobnej scény DAEDELUS (Ninja Tune) sa vracia do Prahy so svojou novou A/V show Archimedes. Na hudbu reagujúca stena pohyblivých zrkadiel umocní Daedelovo vystúpenie v jedinečný mnohozmyslový zážitok. Spektakulárnu sveteľnú show, ktorá bezpochyby ovplyvní celú audio-vizuálnu scénu, vám prináša Lunchmeat. Daedelusove sety sú preslávené svojou originalitou. Každý je iný, pretože ako on sám hovorí: “Pokiaľ niekto chce počuť moju cédéčkovú tvorbu, nech si kúpi CD.” Ako hudobník se Daedelus preslávil svojím avantgardne – renesančným prístupom k tvorbe. Spája a kombinuje v podstate neskombinovateľné. Jeho experimentálna elektronika je zložená od samplov pocukrovaných triciatymi rokmi až po rave – bassové prvky.

Ešte pred samotným vystúpením DAEDELUSa odohrajú naživo svoju najnovšiu tvorbu dvaja zástupcovia GERGAZu GLGN & Jimmy Pé (The Global Optimistic), ktorí predstavia niečo so spoločnej, ale aj samostatnej tvorby.

GERGAZ: You have just released your Téléphérique EP on Gergaz Netlabel, could you tell us a little bit about it? What should the listeners expect, how would you describe it?

This EP is made of 3 tracks representing 3 recent moments of my life, they were all produced in different places, different cities, different rooms, different conditions… so the tracks may sound quite different one from another, but for me, each track keep the idea of travelling, cruising into landscapes…. Listeners should expect a special combination of some spatial orchestral atmospheres, bouncing basses and hand crafted hip-hop beats !

GERGAZ: You are coming to promote the EP to Slovakia and Czech Republic, you are to play at Subclub, Bratislava and at Café Sklenick, Brno. Would this be your first visit here? Nervous?

Yes it will be my first time in Slovakia and Czech, and I’m really looking forward to meet you guys, play some good music, share it with the audience… and have some beers together! Haha

GERGAZ: Tell us a bit about your self that the people would know what they should expect when they come down to the club. What sort of music you are in to? Any favourite artists, labels?

I’ve been involved into a lot of different music projects since childhood, from lots of different genres… I can listen to Debussy, Aphex Twin, Jaga Jazzists and Gojira while having a tea for breakfast ! I could name a few labels like Warp, Jarring Effects, Ninja Tunes, brainfeeder, Alpha Pup, Stones Throw, Tokyo Dawn … or artists like AphexTwin – Jaga Jazzist – Prefuse 73 – Boards of Canada – Lars Horntveth – Venetian Snares – Autechre – Flying Lotus – Teebs – Sigur Ros – Squarepusher – Telefon Tel Aviv – Wu Tang – Satie – Rachmaninov – Opeth – Refused – The Residents – King Crimson… these are maybe my main influences…. But I’ve been more recently into a lot of different rising beatmaking crews, labels, artists from all across the planet !

GERGAZ: Do you include these when performing or is your selection different from what you listen to?

Yeah I definitely play some tracks from these artists in my selection, but I don’t necessarily play my favourite tracks from each artist, I really try to build something coherent using all the different influences I’ve been benefiting from.

GERGAZ: How about the music styles, do you change them during your sets or do you prefer to keep them in certain genre or around certain BPM?

I try to get styles evolving during my set… Concerning the BPM, I usually start from 180 and finish at 75… ! I should maybe try the opposite… haha

GERGAZ: Any track that always works on the floor?

I would say “Lucky Star – Madonna” =)

GERGAZ: How do you find your tracks, artists? Do you follow music blogs, social networks or is it through friends? What’s the usual way for you?

There are lots of blogs that I follow, but I also look for information directly onto labels websites. I’m a very curious person, and a huge music listener… It is nearly like I need to discover at least one new artist I like each week…! I also have a few friends scouting out just the same, with different sources, and we finally share our discoveries and spend time listening to the new golden nuggets we’ve found!

GERGAZ: I have to ask, do you still buy CDs or vinyl?

I use to buy a lot of audio tapes when I was young, sharing and borrowing some new ones from friends at school …. Then I started buying cds, and bought a lot of them in a few years. I have a nice collection of Warp Records cds…. I still buy cds, for artists I really like…. This can happend only a few times a year.

It is in 1999 that Jón Krey, after taking part in several rap collectives as a MC, tries beatmaking, exploring the classical side of hip hop, signing his beats under the enigmatic name Dropout Marsh. He cruises for several years in his compositions to different kinds of experimental electronica, trip hop hovering, or repetitive and industrial downtempo. His productions tend to move little by little towards his early hip hop influences. And since 2004, he shapes landscapes, sometimes soft and coloured, sometimes spatial, dusty or rusty, mixing liquid synthesizers and mysterious samples, nested in the heart of galopant and atypical beat, and crackling and dreamy basses. Music video director or video editor, Vj or rapper, its multiple influences collide and tangle in his music in perpetual motion, dense and vapourous.

Rádio_FM spustilo ďalší ročník udeľovania cien Radio_Head Awards. Nás potešila nominácia v kategórii nováčik roka, kde sa tento rok prepracoval aj náš hommie Jimmy Pé. Hlasovať môžte aj prostredníctvom Vášho existujúceho účtu na Facebooku, Twitteri, alebo Google. Viac TU.

V tomto ročníku sa hlasovanie presúva viac na známe sociálne siete. Vynovená stránka Radio_Head Awards je odteraz na novej doméne www.radiohlavy.sk. Nechýba prepojenie na všetky sociálne siete, na ktorých je Rádio_FM dlhodobo aktívne. Longlistovú hudobnú selekciu môžete počúvať cez SoundCloud, videá sú vkladané z YouTube kanála rádia a aktivity okolo rádiohláv je možné sledovať na samostatnom twitterovom či facebookovom profile. FUJI KURETA

Fuji Kureta is an innovative electronica duo from Istanbul, Turkey. The band was formed in august 2008 and consists of the singer Deniz Öztürk and composer Sahin Kureta. The bands sound oscillates between soft but strong melodies and very inventive beats. Their playful music has also ingredients of trip-hop, jazz and synth pop and comes with lyrics that alternates between French and English.

Okrem hudby sa možete tešiť na vizuálny zážitok, ktorý predvedie StiX (habitat.fm). SPSF sa nie nadarmo volá, ako sa volá, tešíme sa na vás kamoši. @via Batelier

Daniel Richmond aka. Clubroot je najlepším dôkazom toho, že aj keď je dnes situácia okolo dubstepu úplne iná než pri začiatkoch SPSF, stále existujú producenti a Dji, ktorý tento žáner tlačia tým správnym smerom. Dvoma jedinečnými LP, ktoré mali úspech ako u kritikov, tak aj u bežných poslucháčov, sa Clubroot bleskovo etabloval na dubstepovej scéne. Emóciami nabitá atmosféra jeho trackov v spojení s dynamickým beatom mu vyslúžila štatút „tanečného Buriala“. Timing pre Clubrootovú návštevu Bratislavy by ani nemohol byť lepší. Nový singel na Solace Records a čerstvo dokončený tretí album, sľubujú množstvo exkluzívneho materiálu do tanca.

Beat_music dedicated evening hosted by Gergaz Crew. Jimmy Pé (The Global Optimistic/ Gergaz/ Outlier Recordings) is introducing his Passengers EP, GLGN (The Global Optimistic/Gergaz) covers the current sound of Gergaz Netlabel and Canadian beatmakers, YI and his steady-heads-hip-hop set, jablkonosic’s steppa set and Drgy with and-now-what? selection.

GLGN introduces Canadian beat scene at BEAT GARDEN, Gergaz Netlabel’s music evenings. The scene, behind which are names like Vlooper, Kenlo Craqnuques, Qwerty Musique, Bueller, Noo-Bap, … Alaclair Ensemble is coming mostly from Montreal, Quebec and surrounding areas. It is very much united by ARTBEAT MONTREAL, the finest and most innovative event where Mike Slott was performing not long ago as well. In Slovakia, it is the Gergaz Netlabel who presents the Canadian beat scene and also offers it in their catalogue: Vlooper & Modlee- ANALOG LOVE [GNL012] and Vlooper – COPYCAT (a Dilla Tribute) [GNL014].
